Loom and Vidyard both record your screen and camera and give you a link to share right away. Loom is built for teams sending updates to each other. Vidyard is built for sales and customer-facing teams, with analytics on who watched and paid plans priced for that.
Free plans. Loom’s free Starter plan gives you 25 videos of up to 5 minutes each, in up to 720p. Vidyard’s free plan gives you 5 recordings a month of up to 30 minutes each. Neither free plan lets you download your videos.
Price. Loom Business costs $18 per user per month, or $180 a year billed yearly. Vidyard Starter costs $89 per seat per month, or $708 a year billed yearly.
Platforms. Loom has desktop apps for Windows and Mac, a Chrome extension and phone apps, but doesn’t support Linux or Chrome OS. Vidyard works on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebooks and has phone apps.
Audio. Loom’s desktop app records system audio on Windows and Mac. Vidyard records full system audio on Windows and ChromeOS, but on a Mac only from a browser tab.
