Our verdict
The ChromeOS screen recorder covers more than most built-in tools. It records the full screen, a window or an area, with device audio, your microphone or both, and it can show your front camera while you record. Show clicks and keys helps in tutorials.
What it lacks is editing and cloud sharing. You get a .webm file in Downloads; Google documents no trim or other editing and no share link of its own.
If you need a link right after recording, use a recorder with a share link such as Loom, Screencastify or ScreenPal. Check each app’s review for whether it runs on a Chromebook.
