What we like

  • Private link the moment recording ends, with viewer analytics
  • Records in the browser with no install, plus screen recording in the iOS and Android apps
  • Teleprompter and text-based editing on Standard

What to watch

  • Free plan: 30 minutes per video and a Vimeo watermark on embeds
  • Paid plans stop recordings at 120 minutes
  • Records up to 2K, not 4K

Best for: You already host videos on Vimeo and want quick screen recordings in the same library.

Our verdict

Vimeo Record is the screen recorder inside Vimeo. You record your screen, camera or both in the browser, and the video lands in your Vimeo library with a private link ready to send. Viewer analytics show who watched and for how long.

It’s included on every plan, Free too. On Free, recordings stop at 30 minutes and embedded videos carry a Vimeo watermark. Starter costs $144 a year and raises the limit to 120 minutes per recording. The teleprompter and text-based editing need Standard at $300 a year.

It makes most sense if you already host on Vimeo. For a tool built only for video messages, look at Loom or Zight. If you need recordings longer than two hours or 4K, Loom’s paid plan has no length limit and records up to 4K.
